BMW 3 Series misfire caused by faulty engine ECU. Engine misfire is a very common problem across the E90 range fitted with this engine ECU. The vehicle will begin to run rough and develop an engine misfire over one or more cylinders and will often get progressively worse over time.
I checked BMW for recalls on my VIN and they had none, so I replaced the seat sensor with a new one from BMW. The symptoms seemed to go away for about a week then they came back. When we look, the scanner shows the same code and if we look at the live readings, it shows the seat occupancy sensor as being "not initialized".
