Iusually play skirmish games. Before this season, I usually played 2-3 games weekly with no issues, same computer. After current season, I’ve been unable to play even a single second of any single game. I already tried updating OS, video drivers, and the game itself. Specs: Game on steam. Skirmishsetting. What setting am I ♥♥♥♥ing up. I set a standard game 2v2v2 Extra maps and everything standard or whatever the base game is. I fast castle and start building a castle around 17 mins. into the game. and I have yet to be able to finish it cuz the AI has over run me with knights and rams by 20 mins
Ican access game settings fine with map info etc but I'd quite like to not just have random civs constantly. There's a bug that locks you out of civ select in single player skirmish. Try restarting your game. If that doesn't work, host a multiplayer game, set to private, and add ai bots. Can't pause in those games tho.
Get3 more villagers in your TC, they should build 6-8 barracks. Mass produce men-at-arms, they will slaughter the incoming attack. Then you can move and destroy the enemy, it shouldn't take
Ive just started AOE and played for maybe 10-15 hours total, with some prior 4X experience. I wanted to play skirmish because I find the campaigns a bit boring when they constantly tell me what to do next. But the skirmish is the other way around, nothing I do seems to be effective and I seem to eventually lose to the easy AI as well.
